Veedersburg, Ind - Leland Charles KELLEY, 57, of Veedersburg Rt 4, died at 11:40 p.m. yesterday, May 31, 1966 in Williamsport Hospital. He was admitted one hour earlier following a heart attack at his home. He had worked on the Indiana State Highway Department yesterday but he had been in failing health 9 years. Mr. Kelley was born Jan 16, 1909 in Fountain County, son of Willard and Madie Lane Kelley. His marriage to Mildred Hoagland was on Sept 4, 1928. He was an Army veteran of WWII and member of the Charles Forest American Legion Post. Survivors include the widow; four sons, Robert, Kenneth, Richard and Jerry all of Rt. 4, one daughter, Mrs. Janice Murphy of Crawfordsville, 12 grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Ina Weathers of Indianapolis; Mrs. Inez McCollum of Yeddo and Mrs. Clarabell Hisong of Indianapolis; four brothers, Claude and Glenn of Indianapolis Watler of Wallace and Donald of Yeddo. Sever Mortuary is in charge arrangements are incomplete.

Funeral services for Leland Charles Kelley, age 57, resident of Veedersburg Rt. 4, who died at 11:40 pm Tuesday, May 31, were held at 2 pm Friday at the EUB Church in Stone Bluff. The Rev. Conley Rowland officiated and burial, with the Sever Funeral Home of Veedersburg in charge, was in the Osborne Prairie Cemetery, northeast of Covington. Mr. Kelley died in the Community Hospital, Williamsport where he had been admitted an hour earlier after sustaining a heart attack. He was employed by the State Highway Department. He was an Army veteran of World War II, and a member of the Veedersburg American Legion Post. Mr. Kelley was born Feb. 16, 1909, in Fountain County, the son of Willard and Madie Lane-Kelley. He was married Sept. 4, 1928, to Mildred Hoagland, who survives. Surviving, in addition to the wife, are four sons, Robert, Kenneth, Richard and Jerry, all of Veedersburg Rt. 4; one daughter, Mrs. Janice Murphy of Crawfordsville; four brothers, Claud and Glenn, both of Indianapolis, Walter of Wallace and Donald of Yeddo; three sisters, Mrs. Ina Weathers and Mrs. Clarabell Hissong, both of Indianapolis and Mrs. Inez McCollom of Yeddo; and 12 grandchildren.  -- typed by Barbara B
